Executive Summary:
I founded and led a sixty-five person computer games company for ten years before selling it to my management team in 2000. I sit on the board of a property company and I act as a consultant for a variety of organisations. I also have a conventionally formatted CV. Please contact me if I can help you.
I founded Articulate Marketing in 2005 as a specialist copywriting and marketing agency serving technology businesses and government departments and agencies.
I founded
Intelligent Games (IG) in 1988, when I was eighteen. I
designed and programmed 'Nam 1965-1975 which was published by Domark (now Eidos)
and I designed Imperium for Electronic Arts while I was at Oxford.
When I left university I decided to run the business professionally and grow it, so in 1992 I moved into an office by the river in Chelsea and hired the first employees. In 1993, the company incorporated and became Intelligent Games Ltd. I left the company in June 2000 following an amicable management buy-out. When I left the company had reached sixty-five staff and had completed dozens of titles. Sadly, two and a half years after I left, the company went into liquidation.
While I was CEO, I was responsible for company strategy, sales and marketing and building and leading the management team. Our clients include Electronic Arts, LEGO, Sony and Hasbro. I was responsible for the original design of Imperium, 'Nam, SimIsle, Ticonderoga and LEGO Loco and I was executive producer for over a dozen other titles. IG's hit games included: SimIsle, LEGO Loco, Dune 2000, Emperor: Battle for Dune and FIFA World Cup Soccer 2002.

IG won a Deloitte and Touche Fast 50 award three times for rapid growth.
My experience has given me skills in the following areas:
strategic
management and leadership, team building, project
management, working with
creative and technical teams, negotiation, sales and marketing,
client relations
with large multi-national companies and game design.
I am a part-time director and company secretary of Elm Park Mansions Ltd., which is a property management company responsible for 189 flats in West London. I have learned about property management and, with my colleagues, overseen a £450,000 major works project. I have also developed my skills as a company secretary.
I
sat on a
science and technology advisory panel at the Design
Council for a year and I have been a trustee of Lightning Ensemble Theatre
Company and webmaster for the Royal
Aero Club Trust. I have advised a number of businesses, including
Phoenix Coaching
and Voiceover Demos,
on different elements of their strategy, including PR, management skill
development, property acquisition and fund raising. I
was a business mentor for The Prince's Trust
from late 2000 until spring 2003 and I have helped two businesses with their
development.
