Speaker

Introduction:
I have given speeches to the CSSA and The Royal Mail on design.   I regularly give presentations at the Game Developers Conference.  I lecture occasionally at Bournemouth University.  I've even done an after-dinner speech at the 41 Club in Northampton.  If you would like me to give a talk, feel free to contact me.  I also write speeches professionally.

Public Speaking Advice

I have two pieces of concrete advice and some thoughts based on my own experience.

  • Buy The Pyramid Principle by Barbara Minto*.  This book explains how to create logical and compelling arguments and communicate them to other people.

  • Get voice coaching.  It is astounding how much difference good technique, taught over three or four hours and backed up with regular practice, can make to your presentation.  If you contact me, I will gladly put you in touch with Alison, my voice coach.
